Industry & Business
H2Malaysia is the focal point for hydrogen industry development in Malaysia.
The Malaysian hydrogen ecosystem
From renewable generation to electrolysis, storage, mobility and export, Malaysia's value chain is taking shape across Peninsular and East Malaysia — with Sarawak leading at industrial scale. The critical challenge H2Malaysia exists to solve: supply and demand efforts are often invisible to each other, and the alliance connects them.
The value chain
Produce
Electrolysis powered by renewables — solar, hydro and beyond.
Store & move
Compression, storage, pipelines and mobile refuelling.
Use
Mobility, industry and power — fuel cells to feedstock.
Export
Ammonia and derivative corridors serving regional demand.

The hydrogen horizon
Sun in. Hydrogen out. Shipped to the world.
Across one integrated landscape — solar fields, electrolyser halls, storage and a deep-water export jetty — Malaysia's hydrogen value chain takes physical shape.
Policy & regulatory updates
The national direction is set by the Hydrogen Economy & Technology Roadmap — launched at IGEM on 5 October 2023 and running to 2050 across three phases, targeting a levelised cost of hydrogen of USD 1/kg — together with the National Energy Transition Roadmap. Official documents are published by the responsible ministries:
- Hydrogen Economy & Technology Roadmap (HETR)MOSTI
- National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR)Ministry of Economy
Standards and regulatory circulars are distributed to members via the notice board.
Market intelligence
Industry reports and market insights are prepared for members — from project pipelines to offtake and pricing signals. Non-members may request selected briefs from the secretariat.
